Koholā Tail Pin // Humpback Whale Tail Pin
A charm for navigating life’s waters.
Koholā is the Hawaiian word for Humpback whale. This beloved type of baleen whale is a frequent visitor to the islands between the months of November to Early May. They are found in all oceans around the world and travel great distances every year. They are known to have one of the longest migrations of any mammal on the planet.
Adorned on the tail is the constellation Orion, called Ka Heihei o na keiki in Hawaiian. It is one of the most recognizable constellations in our night sky and has been used in Marine Navigation for thousands of years.
